When you become a YMCA member, you’re setting out on a lifelong journey of healthy spirit, mind and body. You’re becoming part of an association that offers everything from child care to health and fitness to youth development to the arts and humanities, and much, much, more.
Because all communities have different needs, all YMCAs are different. In the Greater Miami community, our Y’s are each unique and offer a variety of programs and services specially designed to serve their local community.
To learn more about membership with your local YMCA, select your Y from the list of branches or call the YMCA of Greater Miami at 305-357-4000 (or toll free 1-877-WOW-YMCA) for the YMCA nearest you.
Inquiring and touring a YMCA
Looking to get involved with your local YMCA? Why not call the Y to get a personal tour?
It’s best to call before you visit to ensure that there will be a staff member or volunteer to give you a tour. Each YMCA is different. Some Ys include a gym, pool and preschool. Some offer programs in their area in schools, parks and community centers. Some are child care centers. Fees will also vary. Every YMCA offers some kind of financial assistance policy to include people who cannot afford the full fees for membership and programs.
Become involved
As a YMCA member, you have many benefits but you have some responsibilities, too. You will be asked to get involved and be a champion for the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. You may be asked to volunteer or contribute to the Y’s annual support campaign that underwrites membership and program assistance for those who cannot afford the full fees. The YMCA involves members in offering their time, talent and treasure for the greater good.
