YOUTH SPORTS PHILOSOPHY
The YMCA aims to teach children basic skills and the concepts of teamwork, cooperation and sportsmanship. We seek to build spirit, mind and body through character-building activities that strengthen a child's sense of self-confidence, self-respect and responsibility. We stress participation and fun, rather than competition, so that all children can have a positive experience.  We promote children interacting with other children by placing them on teams with others, strengthening communication and friendship development skills.

YOUTH SPORTS LEAGUE INFO
Each season will include 8 weeks of play including 16 practice days and 6 games days. Practices will be held during the YMCA afterschool program hours and games will be held on Saturdays at select field locations. Coaches will teach fundamentals, sportsmanship, and team play.  All players will receive a shirt and an award at the end of each season.

PLAYER PLACEMENT
Your child will be placed on your school’s team with other students in age appropriate groups.
